Die Nutzung der App ist nur durch Teilnahme an der Umfrage „Leben in Deutschland“ möglich. Die Teilnehmer erhalten ihren persönlichen Teilnehmer-Code durch den Interviewer, der die Umfrage vor Ort durchgeführt hat.Die App „Leben in Deutschland“ wurde im Rahmen der gleichnamigen wissenschaftlichen Studie von TNS Infratest Sozialforschung und Happiness Research Organisation entwickelt.
Über die Umfrage hinaus soll der Kontakt zu den Befragten erhalten werden: 4 Mal im Jahr finden kleinere Umfragen mit ca. 10 Fragen zum Befinden und der aktuellen persönlichen Situation statt, für deren Beantwortung die Teilnehmer ein Dankeschön in Form eines Telefonguthabens oder Amazon-Gutscheins erhalten. Gleichzeitig informiert die App „Leben in Deutschland“ regelmäßig und aktuell über Themen rund um die Situation von Schutzsuchenden in Deutschland.
Die App ist in den Sprachversionen Deutsch, Englisch, Arabisch, Urdu, Paschtu, Farsi und Kurmandschi erhältlich.

The app can only be used by participating in the "Living in Germany" survey. The participants are given their personal participation code by the interviewer who conducted the survey locally.
The "Living in Germany" app was developed as part of the "Living in Germany" study conducted by TNS Infratest Sozialforschung and Happiness Research Organisation.
It is important to keep in touch with the interviewees once the survey has ended: 4 times per year, there will be shorter surveys of about 10 questions each on the participants' well-being and current situation. In return, the participants will receive a mobile phone credit or an Amazon voucher by way of a 'thank you'. At the same time, the "Living in Germany" app provides regular news updates on the asylum seekers' situation in Germany.
The app is available in German, English, Arabic, Urdu, Pashto, Farsi and Kurmanji.
